Privacy Policy

Effective October 5, 2026

The short version. Your game is saved on your phone. There are no accounts, and we never sell data. When you play online, the game server at api.tenpaces.app gets your player card (the name you picked, your look and your duel stats) so other players can duel you, ride with you and see you on the boards. Purchases go through Google Play or the App Store. Sponsor videos from Google AdMob are optional, and personalized ads need your consent.

Who we are

Ten Paces at High Noon (“Ten Paces”, “the game”) is an independent game for Android and iPhone. “We” means its developer. This policy covers the game and this website, tenpaces.app. Questions go to support@tenpaces.app.

What stays on your phone

  • Your saved game: the name you picked, your gunslinger’s look, level, dollars, gold nuggets, bounty, guns, items, wear, wins and losses, stats, season and event progress, and settings. It lives in the app’s storage on your phone. We can’t see it.
  • Motion sensors. The gyroscope and accelerometer aim your gun and tell when you holster, draw and shake loose from a lasso. Readings are used in the moment on your phone and are never stored or sent anywhere.
  • Touch, sound and vibration are used only to play.

Single-player duels, the Wanted Board, target practice and the shops work offline and send nothing.

What goes online, and why

The online parts of the game talk to our game server at api.tenpaces.app, over an encrypted connection. The first time you go online, the game makes up a random player id and a secret key for your saved game, so the server knows your card is yours. No email, phone number or sign-in is involved.

WhatWhyWho sees itHow long
Player card: your player name, look, gun, level, bounty, wins, dollars carried, gang, and your Quick Duel wins in the weekly gang warMatches you with players near your bounty, and shows you on the Most Wanted and Richest boards, in the Saloon and in your gangOther players, through the serverKept while you play online; deleted after 120 days without going online, or when you ask us
Live duels: holster and draw, shots, damage, items used, a private-duel codeRuns the duel in real time between two phonesYour opponent, through the serverRelayed, not stored
Saloon telegrams: the short message (60 characters at most) you type to another playerDelivers itThe player you send it toRelayed, not stored
Gangs: the gang’s name, emblem and colors, its roster and ranks (Boss, Right-Hand, Member), gang upgrades and rounds bought, and a log of what riders did, including the preset quick-chat telegrams (chosen from a fixed list, never typed)Runs the gang and the weekly faction warThe gang’s riders; a gang’s name, emblem and standing are publicWhile the gang exists; leaving takes you off its roster
Pickpocketing: who tried to lift whose dollars, when, and how it wentThe server decides each attempt fairly, keeps the cooldowns and daily caps, and leaves the victim a noticeThe player whose pocket was picked (a notice with the thief’s player name)Notices are deleted once delivered; attempt times are kept only as long as the cooldowns need them

Pick a player name, not your real name. Other players will see it.

Connection data. Like any internet service, the server and its host, Cloudflare, see your IP address while you’re connected, so they can send data back to you and keep the service safe from abuse (for example, limiting how many connections one address can open). We don’t use it to identify you, and the game server doesn’t store it with your card.

You can stay off the server entirely: don’t use the Saloon, gangs, pickpocketing or the boards, and nothing above is sent.

Purchases

Gold nugget packs and the Silver Saddle (the season pass’s second track) are sold through Google Play or the App Store. The store handles the payment; the game never sees your card or bank details, only a confirmation that it uses to deliver what you bought. Each purchase carries a random identifier for your saved game, so a purchase interrupted by a crash still reaches the right game. Refunds are handled by the store you bought from.

Sponsor videos (Google AdMob)

Ads in Ten Paces are optional rewarded videos: watch one for a point of stamina or a doubled bounty, or skip it. They are provided by Google AdMob. To have a video ready and to show it, Google may collect and process data from your phone, including:

  • the device’s advertising ID (the Android advertising ID, or Apple’s IDFA if you allow tracking),
  • your IP address and the approximate location it gives away,
  • information about the device and the app, and how you interact with the ads,
  • crash and performance data from the ad software.

Google uses this to deliver and measure ads, to prevent fraud and, only where you allow it, to personalize ads. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

  • In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, the game asks for your consent through Google’s consent message before personalized ads are shown. Without consent, ads are non-personalized. You can change your choice later in Settings.
  • On iPhone, the game asks through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt before the IDFA can be used. Say no and the ads stay non-personalized.
  • On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone’s settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads, or Google → Ads).

We don’t get any of this data from Google, only totals of how many videos were watched.

What we never do

  • No accounts, email addresses, phone numbers, contacts, photos, microphone, camera or precise location.
  • No selling or renting of personal data, and no sharing with data brokers.
  • No analytics or tracking on this website: no cookies, no ads and no third-party scripts.

Children

Ten Paces at High Noon is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us information through the online features, email us and we will delete it.

Your choices, and deleting your data

  • Delete your progress: Settings → Reset progress (tap twice to confirm), or uninstall the app. This deletes the saved game on your phone, including its gold nuggets; we can’t restore it.
  • Delete your online data: email support@tenpaces.app with your player name (and your gang, if you ride with one), and we will delete your player card, notices and gang membership. Cards that haven’t been online for 120 days are deleted anyway.
  • Ads: skip the sponsor videos, change your consent choice in Settings, refuse tracking on iPhone, or reset your advertising ID.
  • Stay offline: everything but the online features works without a connection.

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the EEA and UK, or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or move your data, and to object to how it’s used. Email us and we’ll help. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

The game talks to the server only over encrypted connections (WSS / HTTPS). The secret key that proves a player card is yours is stored on your phone, and the server keeps only a one-way hash of it.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and its date. If a change affects what leaves your phone, the app’s release notes will say so.
